'Nest' is the idea from an image I took. How can I create something real and permanent and make it seem artificial. The idea behind nest was very simply; not everyone has a home, or a nest, to call their own. Sometimes where you live can seem fanciful, imaginary and the complete opposite of reality.
'Nest' is the idea from an image I took. How can I create something real and permanent and make it seem artificial. The idea behind nest was very simply; not everyone has a home, or a nest, to call their own. Sometimes where you live can seem fanciful, imaginary and the complete opposite of reality.
This is a basic step procee of how I approach most of the work I create. Step 1. Very rough sketch concept that mainly allows for composition. Step 2. Fine outline and inclusion of more detail. This is where my imagination will add onto whatever image I may be working from. Step 3. Layers upon layers of color. The small section of the lower left of the picture would have taken 25-30 hours alone as I go over each section repeatedly with tiny little details. Step 4. This is a fine process of making sure I compare depth of image to the negative space or background. Everything in the image is important, even if it seems small and insignificant. I try to apply this art process to my everyday life as well.
